Calling all preschoolers! Join our partner, GreenHill Center for NC Art for some storytime and art making fun every Masterpiece Friday.
Who's ready to learn about collages? This Masterpiece Friday, Miss Jaymie explores Collage through the work of Greenhill's "NC Women Abstract Painters" exhibition artist, Celia Johnson. Then she reads us a story about the alphabet letters racing up a coconut tree.
Lastly, Miss Jaymie takes us through an awesome craft where we can make our very own coconut tree collage!
First, let's look at the artwork of Celia Johnson.
Now lets dive into the story, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault
Inspired by the story, we're going to make our own coconut trees! Here's what you'll need to get started:
Supplies:
Plain sheet of background paper
Strips of paper, in varied colors
Scissors
Glue
Ready to get making? Let's do some art at home!
